Chemicals - Amines

Amines are organic compounds which are ultimately derivatives of ammonia (NH3) and in which one, two or all three hydrogen atoms of the ammonia are replaced by alkyl groups or aryl groups or have joined together to form more or less different heterocyclic ring systems. Since amines can also contain more than one N atom, the number of possible amines is so large and their structures so different that structures and properties cannot be presented in a single article. Cyclic amines will only be discussed here in passing; therefore, please refer to the article on heterocycles.
