Flocculator

A flocculator is used for coagulation and flocculation of particles. In chemistry, flocculation is a process in which colloidal particles settle either spontaneously or by the addition of a clarifying agent in the form of flocs or flakes. The process differs from precipitation in that the colloids are merely suspended in a liquid in the form of a stable dispersion prior to flocculation and have not actually gone into solution. The terms coagulation and flocculation are used. Coagulation aims to destabilize and aggregate the particles through chemical interactions between the coagulant and the colloids. Flocculation aims to sediment the destabilized particles by causing their aggregation into flocs.
