Titrator

A titrator or titration device determines the amount of a substance or analyte dissolved in a sample. During the controlled addition of reagent in a known volume, the chemical reaction is monitored either by the color change and with a photometric sensor or with a suitable pH, redox, conductivity or surfactant sensor. Titration (titrimetry, volumetry or dimensional analysis) is a method of quantitative analysis in chemistry. A known substance whose concentration is unknown (sample solution) is reacted in a specific chemical reaction with a measured solution whose concentration is precisely known. The volume of the consumed dimensional solution is measured and the unknown concentration of the sample solution is calculated on the basis of the stoichiometry.
