Transilluminator

Transilluminators are used for the illumination of transparent materials, for example for the analysis of gels.  These devices provide a highly sensitive method for detecting double-stranded nucleic acids previously labeled with fluorescent dyes such as ethidium bromide or acridine orange. Their low power consumption and uniform illumination make transilluminators ideal for viewing or photographically documenting DNA or PAGE electrophoresis gels. The compact design of many models allows for easy placement at workstations of any size.
